1. Who We Are

MyGrandPals ("MyGrandPals," "we," "us," "our") is a service operated by MoonShot Tech, a sole proprietorship registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("MoonShot Tech," "Company").

By using MyGrandPals, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. About the Service

MyGrandPals helps kids discover and preserve their grandparent's life story. Kids explore a Story Book made up of Life Chapters (like Childhood or Love Story); each chapter is filled with Memories — a question a child asks, a voice response from a grandparent, and sometimes a photo. Grandparents respond by voice, over WhatsApp, with no app install required.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

  • Account Holder. The parent or legal guardian who signs up is the "Account Holder" and the only party who enters into these Terms with us. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to be an Account Holder.
  • Kid profiles. The Account Holder creates a profile for their child within their own account (first name and age only). Kids do not have independent accounts, logins, or the ability to agree to these Terms themselves.
  • Grandparent participation. The Account Holder invites a grandparent via a WhatsApp link. The grandparent accesses the Service through a one-time password (OTP) sent over WhatsApp — no separate account or agreement to these Terms is required from them. By responding to a question (e.g., recording their voice), the grandparent consents to that specific response being captured, stored, and shared with the family members the Account Holder has added to the Story Book.
  • You're responsible for making sure everyone you invite (your child, your parent/grandparent) is comfortable participating, and for the accuracy of any information you provide about them.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive;
  • Upload content that is defamatory, infringing, obscene, or violates someone else's rights;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to a family;
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Content You Submit

  • Photos, voice recordings, written stories, and questions that you or your family submit ("Family Content") remain yours — MoonShot Tech doesn't claim ownership of it.
  • You grant MoonShot Tech a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display Family Content solely to operate and improve the Service for your family (e.g., building your Story Book, generating a memory video).
  • You confirm that you have the right to submit the content you upload, and that you have your grandparent's consent to record and store their voice and photos.
  • We do not sell Family Content, and we do not use it to train AI models outside the features you're using.

6. AI-Assisted Features

Some features — like suggesting questions for kids to ask, or helping tag people in a photo — may be assisted by AI tools, including third-party AI service providers. These tools process the specific content needed to power the feature (e.g., a photo, to help identify who's in it) and outputs are always suggestions your family can edit or skip. We take reasonable steps to keep this processing secure.

7. WhatsApp-Based Access

Grandparents are invited and log in via WhatsApp, using Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform to deliver invitation links and one-time passcodes. Standard messaging rates from their carrier may apply. We use their WhatsApp number only to deliver access links and Service-related messages — never for marketing without consent.

8. Intellectual Property

The MyGrandPals name, logo, app design, and underlying software are owned by MoonShot Tech. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our branding or code beyond using the app as intended.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, MoonShot Tech isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or ₹5,000, if you haven't paid us anything).

10. Termination & Your Data

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, we'll delete your personal data and Family Content as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with an updated date, and let you know about material changes by email or in-app notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service.
