This Privacy Policy describes how MoonShot Tech ("we," "us," "our"), the operator of MyGrandPals, collects, uses, and shares personal information, and the choices you have about it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account info (from the parent/Account Holder): name, email address, phone number, password.
  • Kid profile info: first name and age/age range only. Kids don't have their own account, login, or contact details on file.
  • Grandparent info: name and WhatsApp number, used to send them access links and OTPs.
  • Family Content: photos you upload, voice recordings, AI-suggested and family-written questions, generated stories, and memory videos.
  • Usage data: basic device/browser information and log data, so we can keep the Service running smoothly and secure.

We don't use cookies or trackers for advertising, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate the Service — build your family's Story Book, deliver questions, store responses and photos, and generate memory videos;
  • Communicate with you — sending OTPs, invitation links, and Service-related updates;
  • Keep the Service secure and improve it over time.

We do not use your family's content for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

3. AI-Assisted Processing

Some features — like suggesting conversation questions or helping tag people in a photo — may use AI tools, including third-party AI service providers. Only the specific content needed for that feature (e.g., a photo you're uploading) is processed, and it's used solely to power that feature, not to train AI models beyond what's needed to serve your family.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share information only where necessary to run the Service:

  • Supabase — our hosting provider for the database, authentication, and file storage;
  • Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — to deliver OTPs and invitation links to grandparents over WhatsApp;
  • Google Cloud — to render memory videos;
  • Legal authorities — only where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not share or sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Children's Data

MyGrandPals is a family app built around parental control:

  • A child's profile is created and managed entirely by their parent/guardian (the Account Holder) — we don't collect information directly from children, and children can't sign up or log in on their own.
  • Only minimal information is stored about a child (first name, age) — no separate login, contact info, or independent account.
  • Parents can view, edit, or delete their child's profile information at any time from their account.

6. Grandparent Participation

Grandparents join at the invitation of the family and access the Service through a WhatsApp link and OTP — participation is always voluntary. When a grandparent records a voice response or shares a photo, that content becomes part of the family's Story Book and is visible to the family members the Account Holder has added — not shared beyond that family circle.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • We keep your information and Family Content for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and content from our active systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.
  • Where available, you can export your family's photos, recordings, and stories before deleting your account.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS) and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to keep your family's stories safe.

9. Where Your Information Is Stored

Your information may be stored and processed on cloud servers located outside India, operated by the service providers listed in Section 4.

10. Your Choices & Rights

You can access, update, or delete your account and Family Content at any time from your account settings. You can also contact us to ask what information we hold about your family or to request its deletion.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with an updated date, and let you know about material changes by email or in-app notice.
